"Recent discussions" block

The "Recent discussions" block on the web site used to have links to the first unread message in the topic. Something changed today and all links refer to the first message of the topic. Am I the only unlucky?

Hmm. I'm not experiencing this. Mine is, I think, still going to the first unread message. I do have to wait for it to completely load before it will jump from the first post to the proper spot, but that's not a change for me either.

I don't remember if it ever worked correct for me, but then again, I'm using the old blue default skin which is no longer supported.

Weird, but is started to work to me again... Related question - is it possible to get the same behaviour (show the first unread message in the thread) in the "New Posts" link, http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/search.php?do=getnew ?

I don't think so. If you click the little arrow next to the most recent post-er's name, it will take you to the latest post, which usually means you only need to back up a few posts to find the latest you haven't read.

I agree with you it's an inelegant solution, but it is called new posts - and it distinguishes it from the Recent Posts block.

I use "Use Forum Default" skin. I wish the length of "Recent Discussions" block to be configurable, it is too short...

New posts are posts you have not seen - not necessarily all the latest posts...

I think what you probably want is the link to "todays posts" which is available under the quick links drop down. here's a direct link: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/s...archid=2791368

No, "todays posts" is not what I want. I need a list of message threads with unread by me messages (like "New Posts"). But the links in the list should point to the first unread message in the message thread (like in '"Recent discussions"). Links in "New Posts" point to the first message of the thread

This is inconvenient. Extra click. That's why I use "Recent discussions" block only, but it is limited in size.

Only the FGRV 2.0 skin is supported by our tech admin people. The old "default" skin is still there for those who want to use it, but it's no longer current or updated.

For me the app is a lot more convenient just for reading. The "Timeline" works backwards from the most recent postings, and it always picks up from the first unread post in the thread (that can be changed in the settings, but I believe first unread is the default).

I only use the website for longer posts, searching, attachments, and linking.
