Searching Posts and Threads, etc.

Hi Folks,

Could use some help here, please. Weeks (even months) after something has been posted, I realize that it was information that I could use in the repair of my CT. I sign in, go to search, quick links, etc. but can never find what I was looking for. Yet, when I put out a "plea" for help, one of you good people come up with the post that I had been searching for in a matter of seconds. I've noticed that others have seemed to have had the same problem. So what are we doing wrong?

Once again, thanks for any help.

Marty I have found the search function on the site doesn't work well for me either - have better results using Google with fiberglassrv.com and your search terms included. Think you will find it works a little better at finding the posts you are after.

Marty - there is a google search option in the drop down menu (under search). The basic forum search is a keywords search only - google often does a better job.

Say, that works! Not I won't have to bother people so much with redundant questions. Thanks to Carol H and Janet H. You folks are part of what makes this such a great site.

One of the best things an OP can do is make the title meaningful. Starting a thread with "I Need Help" in the Problem Solving forum makes me go.. D'oh. Far better to put something like Trillium Vent With Leaks. THAT really helps with Search.

Be aware that you can search by an individuals name. So if you remember who posted the topic you can sometimes find it that way. That assumes they don't have 14675 or more posts! Raz

Back in the day when real human names were required instead of screen names, I had a lot easier time remembering who posted what. Now it's alot tougher for me... but I'm that much older too... but don't want to blame my lack of 'membering on that
