Add to list: There is a ice house on Barataria Blvd, Marrero, La (across river from New Orleans). We had a camper that had an ice box. We found coastal areas where there was fishing was easier to find big blocks of ice. We would start out with a big block but many times we would have to stack 2 of the smaller blocks in the ice box &, of course, they would melt faster.

Some of the Safeway stores carry block ice and some of the supermarkets carry dry ice for their customers who live far from the stores. Alberson's has given me some last month.
