Not sure if it's possible but contact Xanterra where you made your reservation and ask your question.

Madison CG opens 4/28. You could also call them directly 307-344-7381. We worked there in 2015 and they were very accommodating to guests. We are going back as volunteers this year.

leo,

Leo,

My wife and I will be campground hosts. There are 3 host couples working in Madison. We start on 5/15. You should keep your reservation and come on out. [emoji3]

Middle of May... probably chilly, but a good way to beat the summer crowds, I imagine.

Ken, WOW!!! you really twist my arm. You know here is the story. We are negotiating the sale our scamp 13 to pay UNCLE SAM but we have not accepted the offer yet. Our schedule for YNP 5/25 leaving before memorial day. and heading to TETON no reservation. I am leaning towards rejecting the offer and
ask UNCLE SAM to wait. What do you think, HA!!! They said, Dont worry be happy.

Yeah. We're expecting snow to still be on the ground.

No pressure from me. Hope you can find a way to avoid parting with your Scamp. I would be heartbroken.

June 18, 2014; 4.5 inches fell on us. On our trip from Fishing Bridge to Old Faithful we had to pull off the road because visibility was near zero and the roads were so slippery we were having trouble maintaining control - without the trailer!

I know and believe you, I was in Backus, Mn May 2014 to pick up my Scamp and it was snowing and very, very cooollldddd. We are planning to stay at Mount
Zion for two days on our way to YNP. From MZ will determine a go or no go but
will be ready either way. Our trip will be all I -15 straight from California with my TV ram pro master city, 2 wheel drive. If the road condition is bad I will be turning around and forgetaboutit. Avoiding driving memorial day on the road but instead may be smoking brisket for 12 hours in my backyard. No beer for me. many thanks, for the heads up. see you here in California rallys.

Send a message via AIM to Dick & Joanne
The reason we stopped tenting: June 2004 for 2 weeks in Glacier NP. It was cold and rainy for the entire first week so we packed up and moved south to YNP. It snowed. Bought a Casita December 2005.

Dick & joanne,
Yes, i feel your pain doing that. I wonder how come it took you two weeks to decide to go south, I dont mind the rain but if is cold i ll be out of there within 24 hours. YNP glacier much higher elevation than YNP madison and it is raining
it tells me that the temperature is not that low. I am not afraid of rain because you can only get wet once!!.

Returned from YNP Saturday, motel camped in Gardiner because nights were low 30's & didn't want to winterize trailer. No snow in Mammoth, Lamar, Norris, Madison but when road opened to Canyon & Fishing Bridge, snow there. Big rigs crammed into Fishing Bridge between large snow drifts. Good time to be in YNP as the little red doggies are being born & it was very "beary". Also not very crowed. Don't understand why they only had one section open in Mammoth cg with a "full" sign. Never doubt that it could snow again but was quite nice weather wise last week. Julie
