A inclusive List of Camp Grounds for a Newbie

I am making travel plans to drive to Chilliwack, BC from Florida, to pickup my Escape Trailer. I am looking for good campgrounds along the route & the Pacific Northwest

Which Resource will give us a list of Camp Grounds, including the expensive ones with all amenities.
What is your opinion about the paid membership campgrounds eg...Thousand Trails...etc ?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I'm a little confused. You asked for a list of "Good Campgrounds" and then you said you wanted the "Expensive Ones, with all amenities"

There are 1000's of Excellent Campgrounds that are neither expensive, nor do they have all amenities.

Are you wanting a listing of what are usually called "RV Resorts".

And approximately what route will you follow. A lot of sites in the northern climes will be closed for the season in winter.

In any event, here's the one I use, with over 24,000 listings I am never without a place to stay:

Thanks Bob, I appreciate it.

I am looking into staying in KOAs along the way, but am researching into any RV Resorts.

Best

In Florida everything is open year round. as you travel north campgrounds start closing during the fall and winter seasons. Depending on when you plan your trip north you have to take this in account and may have to call and make sure places are open and what amenities are still available to you. Got to be exciting to get a new Escape. Happy travels.

Here is a listing that claims to be RV Resort oriented:
rv_resorts

And if you Google "RV Resorts" for any given area you get about a bazillion hits.

FWIW: Resorts don't seem to be a preferred venue for the majority of the FGRV'ers hereabouts for whatever reasons. But good luck...

Did you send them as a P.M.? If so, I haven't figured that out either and copy and save them in my own text file.

Here is where you find sent PMs.
Click on the "Private Messages" and then click on the triangle.

I have iPad and use the app "All Stays". It is awesome! Works best with wi-fi or cellular but still works on the road where I do not have either. Try it!!!

Full Service RV Parks

I'm still a newbie (full timer) myself, and I've discovered the hard way that since I have neither a generator nor solar, I need electric hookup when it's cold. I did one thing right, though -- I bought a Passport America membership, and I use it where it's cold, because it lists only full-service parks and resorts for 50% off the usually high price. The listings will say whether they're open year round and what the restrictions are. I may not need it after my first year, but I'm glad I have it now.

Buy one or more campground directories. If you belong to AAA and have a RV AAA membership these directories are all free. If you belong to "Good Sam" you can order them from Camping World.

Just about every state offers free campground directories. Visit the individual state's websites and order free directories via the Internet...allow several weeks for delivery.

Contact KOA and they will send you their directory..Free!

These directories list all amenities at each campground including costs, site sizes and operating dates with complete addresses and phone numbers.
Don't leave home without one!

Happy Camping!

I use the same app with my iPad, and agree that it is a good one.

GoodSamClub + rvparkreviews

I use Goodsamclub.com: Plan a Trip > Find a campground > map view to locate prospective parks. Good Sam Club's 10/10/10 ratings are usually quite accurate but only cover commercial campgrounds. I use campgroundreviews.com to confirm my choices, and this has worked well for us.

I give back by posting reviews after I have stayed at a park.

I've used satellite view in Google Earth to have a look around.
Is that RV park on the river actually on the river, or is there a four lane road between the sites and the shore? Is that a 24-hour lumber mill up on the hill behind the park ( Clayburn in Merritt, BC )?

This is a rather new site that attempted to include all public and private campgrounds and has search criteria that allow you to drill down to your unique criteria.

The Good Sam CG Directory is probably the most comprehensive list you'll find. You can access it online, as mentioned, or buy a hard copy (about the size of the biggest telephone directory you ever saw).

Here is a website that list campgrounds in Canada and the US. The campgrounds are rated by fellow RVers, and show the amenities available.
