Banff and Jasper gets a look.

I just got back from a 2-week trip to Banff and Jasper. Had a great time and my wife and I still like each other. It took a couple of days to get the setup duties split, and then everything went fast when we got in and left camp dites. The mountains of Jasper were awesome; we did 8 hikes in 3 1/2 days. Most hikes were only 2 to 4 miles, but all seem to start at the bottom of the valley and go up 1300 to 1600 feet. We also spent time in the Ice Fields and Banff. After all the hiking, we took the last day off and went to the hot springs in Banff.
The Hyundai Tucson towed "Siesta" great, even though it weighs in at 1900# per the last meet. Dawn did half the driving and only got excited on one mountain pass that had a huge trailer going 30 mph. We ended up going so slow and the hill was so steep, that we were in 1st gear going 35 mph after the huge trailer pulled off. I ended up using the slapstick to keep the Hyundai in 1st and shifting for Dawn so she could concentrate on the road.
The only other small trailer I saw was in Jasper, a 13-foot trillium.
The photo below is from the Ice Fields; we got there early before the crowd.

Glad it all worked out and from reading the story and trials going UP the hill you're probably very glad you have a 13' Scamp and not a 35' monster 5th wheel...
