Hi guys,

I'm going to be at Bullards Beach in late Sept/Oct (but unfortunately not for the gathering in July ) and I was wondering if folks had suggestions for favorite campsites there.

I'll have my dogs so shade would be good. Their maps are pretty good for showing where the high activity areas might be (so I can avoid those) - but you have read each site description to get any more info.

When I don't know , I figure the collective minds here will have answers.

C loop has fewer trees...because it's closer to the beach. But it shouldn't be hot in October...maybe a bit on the cool side. Both B and A loops have more private sites, but because of the shade (even in July!) the sites are cool and I've found don't warm up until afternoon. Just remember, you can walk to the beach, but the park really is quite a ways from the beach...most folks drive to the lighthouse/beach or at least ride a bicycle. I can't really offer you site info...because I've always stayed in the same site for the Oregon Gathering. It's nice and big, but too close to the playground (when the gathering isn't going on)...if kids walking through your site bothers you A14 is NOT for you.

And, don't forget not all sites have full hookups...if that's a concern for you. However, the shower/bathroom facilities are kept sparkling clean!

I choose my site at the OG because of the dogs. It's B21, and it is almost completely surrounded by vegitation. Very private, they can see out, but not in very many places. It was there with Fred and Robert last year and my first thought when seeing it was that it would be great for the dogs.

Gina, Isn't B21 short? Will you fit now that you have a mansion? Our mini van and 13 has a 30 foot combined length. Will you be able to squeeze your TV in there? Probably can put it in at an angle. Really looking forward to seeing your new home.

Gene Layton, webmaster of the CasitaForum, has uploaded a page with a few pictures of the Bullard's campsites. For those that have never been to Bullard's, this will give you a birds eye view of what the park looks like:

Nancy, Fred got his in there, and it is 16 feet. His car is longer than mine and it didn't seem to stick out into the road

Here are a couple of pictures of my rig in [b]B21.
The Odyssey and the "Eggstacy" have a combined length of 34 feet.

The electric service at this space is 20 amps. I needed an adapter for my 30 amp cord.
The asphalt pavement area has buckled, and is not smooth or flat, but it is not that much of a detraction, and it is not really "broken".

The year before, we were one space over in [b]B19. That asphalt is smooth and flat, but there is less shade, and the path to the restrooms borders the space.

I can plainly see that I will have competition in July 2008, because [b]B21 will be my 1st choice then.

The second photo is a view of the road thru B loop. You can see my Honda Odyssey in the distance toward the right side of the picture. The white Ford Explorer and Casita Liberty are in [b]B19, and the Red Nissan Exterra is in [b]B17.

I am gonna be in A loop!

I didn't get a real good chance to scout out the sites last year. On foot and no home made me less energetic than I would normally have been.

This year, I arrive early and leave late. I will have a better chance to wander and say "I should have gotten THAT spot!"
