Thanks, Ron,

We wish we'd had time to see everyone we'd planned on visiting with, but it will happen in the near future! Here are some photos to share from this journey!

Pictures look good and the weather was nice while you were there too

Aren't those little house boats in the Inner Harbour the neatest things, makes me wonder why I have a house and all this stuff (I just finished plans for a monster house for a client where my entire house would fit in their garage, or in the kids' bedroom wing, or in the master suite wing, so I guess I'm not quite as excessive as I though...) Did they have any 'Model Homes" open to take a look at?

Looks like you made it the Butchart Gardens too?

We loved the houseboats, but decided we could never live with such a lack of privacy as the Fisherman's Wharf inhabitants there must experience... constant passers-by such as we were streaming right by the front doors and windows, peering at every nook and cranny and taking photos (mea culpa, mea culpa). Guess there are folks who are much more comfortable with that level of exposure. There weren't any models open that we noticed, but there was one modern-looking one for sale for 325K...yikes!

I definitely appreciate living in a smaller footprint home. I can't imagine wanting a house as large as the one you mentioned...wouldn't seem very cozy to me. Nevermind the housecleaning (but what am I thinking, they must have a maid for that).

We never made it to Butchart Gardens... but besides taking us to see the houseboats, Ken and Di drove us through one of the city parks in Victoria, where we got out and walked around very briefly. They said that the flowers are always beautifully groomed like that... what a terrific city to be a professional landscaper!

The last photo is of us waiting to board the ferry on the way back to the mainland... that was a neat experience... such efficiency and very well-planned layout, nice restaurant, gaming arcade, conference rooms, boutique, cafe. If there were such a ferry in the U.S., I sort of think they'd stuck a casino on it somewhere to get patrons to part with more money (obviously I am not into casinos).

This will be our first time in Canada. We are coming to get our 19' Bigfoot from SoutherwesternRV in Victoria on Vancouver Island and wonder what campgrounds and activities/things to see people would recommend? First night will be in or around Victoria, then we really only have one extra day and night before we need to head back (it's a 3-4 day drive home). We'd prefer to camp on the inland side of the island.
Hello Val: One of the nicest parks near Victoria is Weirs Beach RV Park. A reservation is required. They can be reached at 250 478 3323. With your very small time frame I would suggest you just make your base there and then come back for a "real" trip as teh island has much to offer and we would be happy to give you as many ideas as we can. We would also be happy to see you on Gabriola.

Happy Trails, Ian

Lets add to this: I now see you have been and gone and I am a bit late in my response. Oh well, there will be a next time. Sorry to hear about your problems with the Bigfoot. Hope they all get resoved and your bigfoot becomes yor happy home on wheels.
