Wink Camping in the Big South Fork NATIONAL Rec Area, TN

We just returned from 4 days in BSFNRA today..camped at Bandy Creek Campground in TN near Jamestown & Oneida. The uuuge area of the park is difficult to describe as it encompasses central TN ansd S-central KY. Lots of hiking and horse trail-riding.
The campground was clean, quiet and spacious & only avbout 20% full this time of year, but they were getting ready for a large influx of "horse folks" for a big whing ding this weekend. WE had planned on kyaking the Big S Fiork River but did not bother to bring our boats as the park ranger told us last week that the water was to low in Sept for decent boating. Lots of shade and plenty of good fellowship as we met up w some old friends who came there from E TN. Bath houses were the best we've seen in 6 months. Reasonable prices too. No road noise either.

We stayed at Blue Heron campground in BSFNRA last year. Same experience, nice sites, quiet and good hiking. Mike

I have been there many times. Always a great experience and just as beautiful as the Smokey’s without the traffic.
