Camping near Green Valley, AZ

Looking for advice on camping close to Green Valley, Arizona. The only place we've found in Green Valley is the Green Valley RV Resort, which has gotten bad reviews. We're planning to be there in February.

How close to Green Valley?

Dave,

We would love to have you stay at Picacho Peak RV Resort. We are rated 10-10-9.5, I-10 exit 219 about 35 mile northwest of Tucson. Approx. 60 mile from Green Valley. We can put you into a site next to my 2006 Egg Camper.

Regards,
Bob Koss - Manager

There's a little campground above Green Valley. Bog Springs Campground, Coronado National Forest. It's looks real nice, good for bird watching so I'm told. We didn't stay there but did drive through in Feb. of this year.

I can also recommend a visit to the Titan Missile Museum which is close to Green Valley.

Thanks for your offer, but you are too far from GV as we plan to interact with friends there on a daily basis.

Is the Picacho Peak resort you're about the one next to the state park? I'll be aiming my EggCamper toward AZ after Christmas but have no plan. I'll get to wherever I get to whenever I get there. I do know I'll spend some time in the Verde Valley, probably Camp Verde. We've spent 10-12 winters there. Now it's just me since my wife passed. My elder son will probably spend a couple weeks with me and he wants to be in warmer areas.

Camping near Green Valley

Hi Bob,

Yes, Picacho Peak RV Resort is next to the Picacho Peak State Park. I-10 EXIT 219. If you are in the area this winter, please stop and spend some time with us. I am from Michigan also. and have been managing to park for almost two years. We own a 2007 EggCamper and you can see photo of our camper with the Peak in the background by looking at our profile. This is a link to our web site. Picacho Peak RV Resort.

Again, if you are in the area, please spent some time with us. If you have question, feel free to contact me at managerspprv@aol.com.

Regards,
Bob Koss

I'll definitely make a stop there. Just don't know when. It's all new to me now because I lost my wife of nearly 50 years in the spring. My 48 year old son may or may not be with me as he has limited time. My EggCamper will follow along and it'll be nice to meet another Michigander. I'm not a Michigoose, but a gander.
