Just thought that I would share some pics from my weekend camping and hiking at Catalina Mountain State Park just out of Tucson, AZ. The weather was ideal as a cool front arrived, a nearly full moon, plenty of stars, etc.... Here are a couple pics from my late afternoon hike.

I was awakened at 5 am by the coyotes baying at the moon.....what a wierd sound to hear! Was glad to have my lp furnace as it did get cold saturday night (34 degrees at 7 am). That is cold to us by AZ standards anyway. I was on the trail to Romero Pools by 7:15am. It is about a 7 mile roundtrip hike and I am happy to report that there was water in the pools and some running between them this time. Here are some pics from that portion of the hike. If anyone is in the area of Tucson, this park is really worth the visit and is $15 a night no hookup or $20 for electric and water.

Opps, the pic of the campsite did not make it in. Here is what the no hookup campsites look like. Chris

Unhappy

We haven't make it there. I have on my to do list.

Snakes, what snakes? Could be snakes, just keep an eye out for them. Then don't run into them.

Nope, no snakes this time (that I could see anyway!), but I did see a couple the last time that I was there. I did, however, see some road runners, a very tall jack rabbit, a bushy squirrel, and many little lizards. Trust me, I do NOT do snakes, if I see one it goes one way and I go the other! That is why I love sleeping up off the ground in the comfort of my Scamp! Chris.

I've tried almost everything but that one. Right in my back door.
