Cave Mountain Lake VA

Here are some pics from our second trip out. Cave Mountain Lake Rec Area, Operated by the Forest Service in the Jefferson National Forest near Natural Bridge VA. Campground is beautiful built by the CCC lined with rock with beautiful retaining walls most sites along the creek. Very shady and quiet no hookups but they do have flush toilets and hot showers. A beach is on the lake but obviously too cold to use now, probably really cold even in the summer due to being fed with mountain streams. We just put LED replacements in the light fixtures so we didn't even come close to exhausting the battery. Would definately recommend this campground.

Roughing it

We do like to rough it but thank god our teak rockers fit inside our U-Haul they sure are a nice way to sit and enjoy the sound of the creek. Aside from that no canopy, no lantern, no campstove, just used our ammenities in the camper or cooked over the fire, the ribeyes cooked over wood fire were terrific.

Very pretty site - I love the "roughing it" with teak rockers!

Great photos of your camping trip. Wonderful scenery, I can almost 'hear' the waterfall. Thanks for sharing......soon'll be my turn.
