Spent three days here in April and highly recommend it.

Patrick - We have been unsuccessful in securing a campsite there being that they don't take reservations and with it being so popular. We are hoping to get in there this fall. The thing I like about Jalama is that it reminds me of the old California beaches before everything turned into concrete buildings and resorts such as in the Huntington Beach area. It's a throwback to the 60's era and what a great time that was! Thanks for the picture!

We arrived on a Thursday in mid-April and there were a number of spaces available, especially the upper level ones with power (and a view!). The beach front places were always full but it was possible to swoop down and get one if a person were vigilent.

They were doing a survey on possibly taking reservations when we were there, but it looks like from the website that they haven't done that yet.

Very popular, especially with locals who park their rigs/tents there in the beach spots for weekend use and go home to work during the week!

It's a great place when the weather is good. It's one of my favorite surf spots when it eight feet or less. I might point out that there is a reason that the trees grow at a 45 degree angle and the burger stand has a wind speed indicator. The wind and fog cannot be predicted very well due to two large ocean currents that collide just offshore so you kind of take your chances. But when it's clear and calm, it's hard to beat.
