Hi folks,

Thought I'd tag bases. We are currently in Whitehorse the capital of the Yukon.
Having a wonderful time. Ran into a couple from Louisianna who had been with the Scamp Adventure Group of about 12 trailers. They said the group was going too slow for them and they had to be back home by a certain date, so they left the group. I in turn am about 3 days ahead of the group as I chose not to wait on them. I may encounter the group in a couple of days around Tok, Alaska or at the very least the Anchorage/Kenai area in a couple of weeks.

And, as Lily and I were walking around the campground I spotted an Escape trailer. I thought the fellow out front looked familiar plus there's not that many Escapes as yet. Well, guess who it was????? Ian and Patty, I forgot their last name. We caught up on things since the Oregon gathering last year. They are headed out tomorrow with the intent of putting their feet in the artic ocean before heading back in time to attend the Oregon gathering next month.

Any way that's about it for now

How cool, sounds like quite a trip. Joy we'll miss you (and boozer Lily!) at the Oregon Gathering this year, but as we all know you can't be two places at once!

Are we going to a bunch of pictures suitable for the FiberglassRV home page (hope, hope, hope)

Keep us posted, we're living vicariously.

When you get to Fairbanks there's an excellent campground on Airport Road next to the Chena River. That's assuming you're going straight at Tok though.

Hi,

I've been having such a great time I haven't taken time to give you any more pictures or a new report.

I didn't make it to the Artic Circle as Lily got sick and I had to take her to a Vet as well as keep a good eye on her. She had a very bad case of Diahhrea something that you don't want all over the trailer. The Vet gave us two doses of an antibotic and special dog food with fibre. One for immediate use and one for just in case she gets sick again. It took a couple of days for it to clear up.

In addition to not going to the Artic Circle my time at Denal was limited. Not to worry the rest of the trip has been great. I loved the Kenai peninsula, Native Heritage Center in Anchorage, Turn Again Arm, the Museum and Large Animal Research Center part of U of A at Fairbanks, Haines is a very nice place might like to live there, the drive into Valdez, gosh and so many more places, it's all been wonderful.

I'm currently in Juneau. Yesterday, we took a boat ride to the Tracy Arm to see a Glacier. What a great trip. The largest icebergs from the Glaciers are said to be in the Tracy Arm, they were just beautiful. We are here for a couple more days then on to Sitka.

Here's some pictures:

What's that thing on the front bumper of your Jeep? Bug catcher? Did you make it?

Hope you get to Denali. We were there a couple years ago not camping, but as part of a cruise/train package. No words sufice to describe the wonders.

Myron,

It's a rock guard. I've gotten lots of stares and chuckles but it came in handy while on a gravel road. This truck coming towards me threw up a very big rock and I was glad I had the rock guard or my radiator may have been jeopardized.

I made the guard out of, what else, PVC covered with pipe wrap. The hardware cloth is held on with zip ties. The entire guard is held on the Jeep with zip ties.

Hi Joy and thanx for your terrific photos and journaling of your adventure. Since it is unlikely we will make the Alaska drive, we are truly enjoying seeing all that beauty thru your camera lens. Continued safe travels and happy trails. L 'n D
ps: Ms. Minnie, the Dachuahua (our 15# wagonmaster) says she's glad Lily is feeling better now.

Wonderful photos, Joy! Especially loved the ones of the moose, eagle, Lily and you. (We missed you this year at the Gathering!)
