Lake Carlos State Park

Went to Lake Carlos State Park for 4 days Very cool temps. The high was in the low 50's rain on and off for 4 days. But had a good time anyway . I pulled my 13' Scamp with a 97 S-10 4 cyl 5 speed and got 20 MPG driving 55 to 60 MPH.






Stayed in the lower campground by the lake. Very modern bathrooms and showers. Also very sandy beach. Saw Deer, Loons on the lake and a Eagle looking for fish. Also heard owls at night.

looks like a beautiful park... we dont have loons here that i know of.. but I love to hear them... were you the only one there at the park? looks vacant....

Thanks for posting. Although it will be a few more years before Cindy and I can get that far away from home (limited by max of two weeks vacation at one time), its great to know of parks like this. We much prefer camping on public lands and that looks like a great spot. While I've seen Common Loons along our coast (NC) in winter, I've yet to hear one's call and understand thats something to behold.

Hey Kevin, that is great! You got a site right on the lake, wow!!! Carlos is a beautiful park!
I am going to Lake Carlos State Park the last weekend of July. I will be in the group camp. If anyone is camping at Lake Carlos that weekend, be sure to look me up.
