Came home a day early to avoid traffic, but we still had a great time. The weather was nice, little chilly in the a.m. but all in all a good trip.

Too bad you had to come home early, would you mind sharing where you stayed?

We usually rent a cabin every winter for the lighting festival -great fun if someone out there is interested--the little Bavarian themed town gets all decked out for Christmas and on Saturday night has a festival where they throw the switch and all of the stores light up and stay open late, roasted chestnuts, St Nick ,the whole pretty picture postcard

Anyway, I'd like to see the area in the summer and take the scamp. Thanks Jackie

Yes, it is a fun town. Lots of charm. We belong to Thousand Trails and they have a campground 16 miles out of town just past Plain. It is a nice spot. I bet you could find a nice spot if you searched. I haven't taken the time to check out any parks. Maybe I will do that. I didn't want to come home early, but the thought of coming over the passes, Blewitt and Snoqualmie at the end of a long holiday weekend with all the traffic just isn't our cup of tea. Especially pulling our trailer. To many impatient ones on the road.

You make me jealous. I have been to Leavenworth Wa twice, once in April 1975 to take my EMT training with the local First Aid Council, and once in 1992. Both trips were enjoyable. My boys were quite small and to them it was like being in a totally different country. We rented a Rhodes Car and peddled around town for the day. The locals were very friendly, and we were made to feel quite at home.
When you retire, everyday becomes Saturday!

We visited Leavenworth, WA on the 11th of this month and found it to be a lovely town, like our Helen, Georgia. Even tho it's a Bavarian town we found the best Italian bruschettas we've ever tasted. Great place.
