Haven't been to any of these. Maybe Kevin K or fusedlight are familiar with some?

North side of Cities.
East of Anoka, Bunker Hills Regional Park, 63 sites.
Lino Lakes Rice Creek, 78 sites.
those two are found at anokacountyparks.com

East of St. Paul Lake Elmo County Park Preserve

Eagan area south of Cities, Lebanon Hills Regional Park.

Found those places by using the Campwhere app installed on the iPad.

Not for camping, but I've been to Lebanon Hills. Nice area.

Ray, I don't know what you enjoy. If you will be on the south side of the Cities the Lebanon Hills might work very well. It is not far from the Zoo. It is also not terribly far from Mall of America and Ikea. there are also golf courses near.

I realize this is late to the game, but my family's in the northwest suburbs and I've often stayed at the Maple Lake KOA.

A lot of the campgrounds are closed for the winter and the ones that are open usually don't have showers that are open. Another nice campground that hasn't been mentioned is Willow River State Park in Hudson Wisconsin. It's only about 30-40 minutes from Minneapolis. You would have to call to see if the showers are open.

We have a seasonal spot at River Terrace park in Monticello right on the Mississippi river. There are MANY campers in the park that are working in the cities. Many campers work on the road crews in the summer. It is a quiet park, no frills, just camping on the river or near the river and right off interstate 94. I highly suggest it if needing to be in the northwestern area of the city. Daytime has many campers headed to work from RIVER TERRACE PARK, Monticello, Mn.

Money will buy a fine dog, but only kindness will make him wag his tail.
