It was nice, the inside pool was 102 degrees while the outside pool was regulated by the temperature that it came out of the ground. At this time it was about 92 degrees as were the outside showers that were straight from the springs.
Regarding hot springs: many years ago, Ellis and I went to Saline Valley, which is just West of Patamount Valley and Death Valley. To get there, go past Lone Pine on 395, turn East to go to Death Valley and look carefully for a dirt road to Saline Valley. The road is an honest-to-god bumpy dirt and gravel road that takes 4 hours to get to the springs. However, once you get there, it is lovely. Two camping areas. One more popular and one another mile up the road and more quiet. Clothes optional. Outhouses. No electrical
or other amenities.
Try Soldier Meadows, a two-hour drive out of Gerlach, NV. Again a long drive down an unpaved road. Be sure to load up in Gerlach - groceries and drinks and gas. Wonderful natural hot springs in a river.
