Not Really a Campout.....

We packed up and were ready for a wonderful fall adventure....well, you already know it didn't go well. We have been working on window butyl replacement and did the rear window on our 82 burro just the day before we left. Did we test? Nope.

We drove through the heavy rain and wind gusts. The burro performed with magnificence and we arrived at our campsite on the far side of the storm ready for a campfire and relaxation. :-) I even backed our burro into place like I knew what I was doing (a rare thing for me).

I opened the burro up and discovered not only a leaking newly re- butyled back window but also (oh for heavens sakes) the top vent almost shut - but not quite. It must have been like a shower in the little burro! The bedding and mattresses were all full of water. Really! We needed to wring them out. We had puddles inside. Insult added to injury, a light cover disappeared on the trip. I don't know if we can find a replacement. This is the one on the other side in case you have a source to share.

We closed it back up and headed to the laundry mat.

All is well. The cushions and foam mattress are still drying but the burro is now nearly water tight. We are at a cabin at Loon Lake in Washington doing a final dry out.

Not to be a wet blanket....

Oh no! Even miles and miles away, I feel your pain. Especially on the open vent - that has happened here a time or two.

If you want to FedEx the cushions and mattress down here, we'd be happy to help. We're "enjoying" our "delightful" fall weather...99 degrees.

Miss you all!

Jason,
You still get a month of diaper duty for your wet blanket jokes!
