Highland dancing eh? Very interesting Morgyn! I bet there were some great highland dance competitions in Cape Breton. What better place?
All my ancestors are from Canada, and I had a great uncle in Halifax who lived to be 95. Our last visit there was just after the new PEI bridge opened. After circling up and around the highlands, we came back and took a ferry to PEI, then the new bridge to the mainland. I love Cape Breton, as well as the entire province, and can't wait to get back. While still a workin stiff, we hope to take at least two weeks in September 2015 and spend time at that highland campground.
I'm not one for a canoe, but may have a kayak or two when we go.
