Have any members out there camped in the NWT, and in particular travelled the Liard(gravel) Highway, which goes from roughly Fort Providence, to Fort Liard
WE are pulling out the stops this Summer, and going to tow our 17Ft Bigfoot up to Yellowknife from Ontario,in part, along the MacKenzie Highway, which is all paved. No problem, but on the way back, we plan on coming down the Liard Highway, which would mean about 400 km of gravel road.
We are hoping someone can give us an idea of what to expect. We have been going over maps and camping guides, and have an idea where we can expect to find services(gas) and campsites along our route.
I have concerns about gravel damage to the BF, and will be having a trailer facility install a gravel guard, made of aluminum"check plate"across the lower front of the trailer.
Any tips or experiences that you folks can pass along ?
