Ocracoke In April

We are heading to Ocracoke Campground on April 17th for two weeks. Anyone else going to be there??? A little surf fishing and a lot of relaxing.

We were on the Outer Banks last April for 5 days. It was so windy and cold we couldn't go to the beach.

Thinking seriously about the last 2 weeks in May, that will give the mosquitos time to fatten up

Well reservation made for the Swan Quarter Ferry to Ocracoke on April 17th. Now go away winter. Has been so crazy here in the mountains of N.C. Weather forecast for tomorrow is High of 64 then dropping to low of 12 on Thursday with snow. Really!!

Ted, we usually try to make opening weekend for the Cape Hatteras NPS campgrounds and will likely be at Frisco on Friday. We get over to Ocracoke at least a couple of times when we're there - love riding on ferries and the crab & Swiss omelet at the Pony Island.

Agree with you completely about the NC weather. Today's rain finally washed away the last of the snow laying around here in Tarboro. Tomorrow I'll start on all the limbs brought down by the ice.

We are planning to be at Ocracoke Campground for two weeks starting April 17th. We might move to Oregon Inlet Campground at some point. Depends on Fishing, weather or mosquitos. Lol. We have a Scamp 5er and driving a red Colorado Crew Cab. If you see me stop and say hello. Ted

We'll keep an eye out for you. Cindy and I have a dark green 4WD Tacoma double cab and will be in one of the upper loop sites at Frisco (hopefully P57, P59 or P61).

Hope to see you folks there.

Went into my trailer yesterday to take some measurements. Had to dig down 2 feet before the door would open . At Frisco there's also a nice site at the top of the A loop if the P sites are taken. I reommend the breakfast croissants at the Orange Blossom in Buxton. Raz

Raz - thanks for the tip on the A loop. We almost always make a stop at the Orange Blossom for an Apple Ugly on the way home; great recommendation!

We're snowless this morning for the first time in a while and expecting temps in the 70's but they're calling for more freezing rain tonight and tomorrow. I don't know how you folks up north cope with this mess for an entire winter.

Starting to get ready for our first trip of the year. Ocracoke NPS campground for two weeks. Got the camper out today and put my aluminum fishing cart on the back. Three weeks to get everything ready.
