We were there (C3) for a couple of nights but had to leave for the bluegrass festival at Manteo. I went by your place once, but no one was home.

We just returned home after several days at the NPS Frisco campground on the Outer Banks.

The forecasters missed again and weather was great the entire week. One morning, we took the ferry over to Ocracoke for breakfast at the Pony Island (crab & swiss omelet is awesome).

The campground hosts were fellow eggers - Barry and Connie Butz from Ohio in a really nice Casita they had highly customized.

Frisco and Oregon Inlet will be closing on Monday with Ocracoke staying open until the end of the month - hope to see some of you folks there next year.

We should have an unofficial rally.

Huck, that sounds like a great idea! If the Park Service continues their normal practice, they'll re-open Frisco on Good Friday which falls on April 16 of 2015. We're usually there for the opening but any time will probably work for us. Any interest from others on the board and any date preference?

Auger Tent Stakes

All you need is the tent, but the wind panels are nice to have and if you are going to be in the wind, you also need the auger tent stakes.

The wind panels are attached with Velcro strips, but I found the panels needed stronger attachment in strong wind. They came partially loose a couple of times and my stuff got rained on, so I added stronger fasteners to each panel but haven't tested them yet.

So I'm also asking about your tent... Which one is it?

Edited to add... Silly me. I see it in the comments above mine. Checking it out!

We have one of those Clam 1660's as well, and have also had one left standing after strong winds tore other tents away last summer in the Adirondacks. We love it just because it keeps bugs out!

There's a rally this October 2015, "Eggshells in The Outer Banks". More info is on the rally forum at:
