Ontario, Canada, beaches?

I'd like some recommendations for a campground with or near to a sandy beach. Somewhere within 2 -3 hour (tow) drive from Mississauga / Toronto.
Also; I'd like to find something for Canada Day weekend. All of the provincial parks are fully booked but maybe a private cg or a CA ?

Pinery, Sandbanks, and Turkey Point Provincial parks all immediately come to mind. All parks that will leave sand coming out of everything you own for weeks

Unfortunately; ALL provincial parks are fully booked for Canada Day...
Last weekend in Selkirk we were still shaking out the sand from two weeks ago in Pinery
BTW. Selkirk is a nice park with an ugly, rocky, smelly, dirty shoreline.

Valens and Rockwood Conservation have what you are looking for. Not far from you either.

Science Hill near Stratford is nice too but only has a pool and a golf course on site.

For Canada day weekend, you may want to consider New York state

Hi Andrew
You might try coming up to Wildwood park, between Stratford & St. Marys. 1 1/2 hrs from Mississauga. The beach @ W/wood is not that bad but in St. Marys we have the largest outdoor pool in Canada, very picturous town also. Only 1 hr from Grand bend for a day trip.
Wildwood is on the internet so may have openings.

Wildwood is an option too but realize it is very busy with many kids, noise, dust, Small, tight, campsites are what you get there.

Science Hill 10 minutes away is the complete opposite. Much quieter, less busy, neat and tidy. Has a nice pool but no beach.

Depends on what you want.

Here are some pics of Science Hill when were were there with a group a few years ago.

camping ...Lake Ontario

Andrew, try Quinte's Isle Campark near Salmon Point, Prince Edward County. They have primitive camping on Lake Ontario (pebble beach) but you are only ten minutes from the largest bay water dune formation in the western hemisphere...Sandbanks Provincial Park.
Quintes Isle is a beautiful park with pool, "pay showers", activities, etc. Might still have some space open.
Happy Canada Day
