Oregon Inlet Has Hookups (Cape Hatteras NS)

I am planning my fall trip to Outer Banks and see that Oregon Inlet campground now has 23 sites with water and electric hookups. The other 3 campgrounds in Cape Hatteras National Seashore have no sites with hookups.

It is NC (North Carolina ... not NS (Nova Scotia)
We used a private campground at Okracoke

I'm sorry to see that. I liked it the way it was.

I believe he meant NS as in National Seashore.

We were at the NPS Frisco campground a couple of weeks ago and drove through Oregon Inlet while in the area. The campground layout didn’t appear to have changed with the addition of electrical hookups; it’s still basically a big loop with the same crossroads.

The biggest difference we noticed was the number of ‘big boys’ camped there. We’re two hours from the NS, camp there several times each year and seldom see the larger motor homes in the Park Service campgrounds. I’m guessing it’s the addition of power and water that’s bringing them in at Oregon Inlet. From what I’ve heard, there are no plans to expand this to the other three NPS facilities.
