Say Milo McIver is about the only Oregon State Park the I have never been to.
I plan to stay there on my way back from a Canada trip after the Oregon Fiberglas rally.
My question is: Do you have a favorite site at Milo Mc?? If so, which one.

It's been a bizzilion years since I stayed there.
I did drive thru it last year, about this time however. It has not changed much. It's "OK". If fish are your thing, it's the place to be!

Yeah, I'm with Gina...I bet it's been 25 years since I've camped at McIver. I know it's still a first-come-first serve park if that's a concern for you Joy? But, as you know just a bit futher south is Silver Falls State Park, which is a prettier park and you can make reservations.

There is also a COUNTY campground just on the other side of the 224 that is a complete boondock, but each site is nested in the trees and most all are on a small creek. I will see if I can find the name. It's only 10 mins North of Mciver, and personally, I think I would enjoy it more.
Let me look, or maybe the Estacada people can chime in.

I can't seem to find it! There are a couple Clackamas county parks in the area, Metzler is the closest to the one I am thinking about, but it is not laid out or equipped as I remember!
Eagle Fern would be right were I was, but they have no camping there.
Looks like a great park anyway (metzler).. have a snoop!
Metzler County Campground near Estacada, Oregon.

Thanks for the info....I have reservations at Silver Falls already.
I've been to a few of the other campgrounds in the area in the past, maybe I'll just wing it. I know there will be a campsite somewhere for us. Possibly in my Cousin's driveway in Salem.
I'm half considering a jaunt over to Banff, BC before Silver Falls. How's that for a detour???

Yo Joy...I was wrong (no wise cracks now). Rules have changed, they're taking reservations for Milo McIver (thanks to Linda of Linda&Dale...and the internet), we've all gained some knowledge.

Joy, Our detour has your's beat. We are going to Banff, Jasper, Prince Rupert, Petersburg, AK on our way to Bandon. We decided not to do Monterey this trip.
