Open! They always have great pic's of camping in CO. But they are great to post about different current events going on in CO as well...... Good and bad! Often when there is something such as a fire going on, I tend to keep an eye on that group as they post what members are seeing so much more up to date than even some news feeds. Of course as I say that, I haven't seen any updates from them on the flooding...... But normally........

Robin, I can look at the group, but can't see a way to join. Any suggestions?

Patti, just hit like! It will become a feed on your FB.

Hey, Bob Are you still hold up in Estes? Cause things are not looking good! Or at least from my Vacation spot in CA they don't look good..... Knowing what I know of the ways in and out of Estes, I am beginning to wonder how they are going to make, exit an option for all of you? Any word on your end?

I read last night that Hwy 7 had been repaired well enough for folks to travel in and out of Estes Park again. With no power or anything in that area, I doubt that Bob has any internet connection. So I'm not surprised we haven't heard back from him in a while. Once he exits the area, I am confident we'll hear from him again.

Travel around Estes is very restricted. RMNP is closed for recreation and they're only letting people in who live there. RV's are being allowed to leave so hopefully Bob was able to get started on his way home. I'd like to think the worst is over but I just checked the radar and the storms are building up again today over the Divide. Interesting times.

I talked to Bob yesterday via PM. He was able to get out of RMNP over Trail Ridge rd and is doing well. Probably headed for somewhere dryer, warmer and sunny.

Escaping Rocky Mountain nat park

Finally got out of there on Thursday via Trail Ridge road. Only one entrance was open on the east side and i had to take a convoluted route through the town because a good bit of downtown was flooded. Made it over to Moab for Dead Horse Point state park, for Canyonlands, for Arches. Left Moab and headed back into Colorado. On the way I hit some rain, some water and mud on the road plus a bonus: hail on the road. Finally stopped for the night at Montrose. Since so much of CO is messed up with rain, etc, I'm on my way back to Michigan. Try again some other year.

Nothing wrong with trying some other time Bob. Some folks never try the first time! Safe travels to you and make good memories along the way

Bob,
I'm glad you and yours are safe and sound and headed home and that you will also give Colorado a second chance. Wish I had known you were traveling on the Western Slope since you practically drove past my house on your way to Montrose. Would have loved to meet you. If You are headed back thru GJT send me a PM.
Patti

I suppose Moab was still pretty hot? Too bad you couldn't have headed farther north... the Tetons, Glacier NP, something up that way.
