Does anyone have a recommendation for a RV park in Phoenix, AZ?

McDowell Mountain Regional Park
We highly recommend
McDowell Mountain Regional Park Great place for hiking and mountain biking. Quite a lot of wildlife. Great panoramic views in all directions. Recommend reservations. We stayed there last March. It's NW of Phoenix and website shows others in county system, which might suit your needs better geographically, but we haven't been to any of them.

Lost Dutchman State Park has great views, hiking, horseback riding nearby, and is only 1/2 mile from us.

I'll second this one.
We stayed there a couple years ago. Nice place and some nice neighbors.

Pioneer RV Park which is about 12 miles north of the loop 101 on I-17. Nothing really special but it's real clean and away from the city hustle and bustle with good malls at Happy Valley road and carefree highway ....All very close....
Full hookups there and about an hour and a half south of Sedona. I live up the street from there and store my trailer in their storage lot.
It's a 55 plus community

Thanks! Maricopa County Regional Camp Ground Park on the east side looks real good. Just have to talk friends out of demands to park in their drive way.

McDowell Mountain is a great park. We've been to a few thousand parks now and this is one of our all time favorites, huge sites, spotless restrooms, 50 miles of trails, great hiking and biking and Fountain Hills is an interesting community with a water fountain you will not forget.

In my previous response, I misstated that McDowell was NW of Phoenix. It's actually NE.
I agree with Norm. Although we have far less experience than he and Ginny, we would rate McDowell as good as any campground in which we've stayed. Very clean, spacious sites, and lots to do.
Invite your friends to visit you there!

Elvin,
It is located to the NE. We attended an event in Scottsdale and used it as a base, an easy drive into the city.
We did not have reservations but did get a full serviced sites. The also have un-serviced sites scattered about and an overflow section. I would suggest reservations here. People come from all over to camp here, particularly bikers, runners and hikers.

Phoenix area
We tried calling from my cousin in Green Valley to reserve a spot in Phoenix. They all said, "No." when they learned we didn't have a built in toilet.
We found just showing up usually gets us a spot. When they see "how cute" Homelet is, and how clean, there hasn't been a problem.
Here are some places we stayed on the east side and can recommend:
Happy Days RV Park - Apache Junction, AZ - Home
Phoenix Metro RV Park - The Perfect RV Park In Phoenix Ariziona
We don't recommend:
Welcome to the Covered Wagon RV Park. A clean, affordable, fun place to stay! Pheonix, Arizona's RV Oasis
They have reasonable rates, but charge for everything plus are in a seedy part of town.
Arizona Cowboy RV Park - Home Page
Here is a general look:
Phoenix, AZ Campground Reviews - Best of Phoenix Camping - RV Park Reviews
Be sure to eat at:
Organ Stop Pizza | Home of the Mighty Wurlitzer
The sound is unbelievable the first time you hear it and the pizzas are regular priced.
Another point: be careful about arriving in a town while some big local thing is going on, rodeo, etc. Accommodations may be very limited during such things.
Enjoy your trip!
