I know, I live here, but since I live here I don't camp near here.

Does anyone know of a good RV park in or near Fresno? I have friends who will be driving up from Arizona on their way to Washington in April and are looking for a place nearby.

Hi Bobbie,

Whenever I've wanted to be near Fresno, I've stayed at the state park on the north side of Millerton Lake. They have electricity and water, as well as a dump station. The campground is somewhat remote at the end of a curvy road, but has quite a few trees and plenty of birds. Spring and Fall are the best seasons; it can get a little hot when there is no breeze, especially in Summer. I stayed there one year when the wildflowers were in full bloom, very nice! There is a Casino on the south side of the lake, but I don't know if they allow RVers. I don't know of any other place in the Fresno-Clovis Area that doesn't involve a mobile home park. Fairgrounds maybe, I don't know.

Thanks, Bob. That was one place I thought of but they probably won't want to go way off 99.

Well, I guess there is always Walmart! (Or they can chance the street by my house.)

You might suggest Riverland RV Resort on the Kings River just off Highway 99 S. of Kingsburg, Ca.

If your friend is a member of Escapees, he can stay at Park of the Sierras which is just up the road from Fresno about 30 minutes.

It is a very nice park with full hook ups for $15/night.
