We got here about 3. Beautiful day for a drive. Campground for rv's is wide open, not many trees, & it was somewhat difficult to back in. Got our Gander Mtn. canopy up, then the clam. Hooked to power & water & got the hot water heater going. Gail is making dinner, & all is good. More later.

I hope you folks are all having a great weekend!

Frank

Not a bad place, but more shade for tenters, none for rv'ers. Bathrooms close, showers farrrrr away (by the beach), but okay. Great security and staffing, very positive from my perspective. Nice little beach, and huge picnic grounds with lots of paved parking, pavilions, picnic tables all over. Great place for a rendezvous, which was what we were doing.

Here's our humble egg camp...

This is an overview of the entire campground. It was not easy to back our egg in just because the place was so tight.

Off in the distance is one of the big parking lots for the beach and picnic areas.

We pulled out about 10 and parked in a far corner to meet our friends from Rochester. We set stuff up to dry that had got wet from dew overnight. We didn't really use any of it as we had so much shade from surrounding trees.

I have to say they had a nice dump station.

Any questions, just ask.

Frank

Hi, like your clam. I didn`t order a canopy for my 16 scamp. B/C we plan to use a screen house, but need something out the door, W/O it being 900 bucks. I was wondering where you got it and how it stays up. I probably will be camping somewhere up in NY come next spring. My unit will be ready in the week of Sept 29 2014.

Here ya go: Gander Mountain Dining Canopy-760892 - Gander Mountain

50 bucks and two long bungee cords is all you need. It's held to the trailer by bungee cords through post holes in the canopy that hold it down to the tongue and rear bumper (or whatever works). The other side gets the tent poles. It comes with tie down cords and stakes. Works great and is easy to do.
