Scamping on the beach

HI, I'm pretty new to the whole Scamp camping thing and would like to say HELLO! I just purchased a (pretty old and creepy) 1978 Scamp, I LOVE it though, I was previously in a Teardrop and oddly enough it had more storage, Guess the modifications will come right??

OK< what im kinda looking for now is a neat place in Washington or close too where you can camp pretty much on the beach...

Does anyone know of anyplace that is like that, My gal pal and I are planning on doing much Scamping around in the years to come and im sure ill find some great places. Just looking to find some fun places..

Many MOONS ago, perhaps in 1986, we stayed at just such a spot: Cape Disappointment State Park (formerly Fort Canby State Park) is a 1,882-acre camping park on the Long Beach Peninsula, fronted by the Pacific Ocean. The park offers 27 miles of ocean beach, two lighthouses, an interpretive center and hiking trails. Visitors enjoy beachcombing and exploring the area's rich natural and cultural history. The nearby coastal towns of Ilwaco and Long Beach feature special events and festivals spring through fall.

It was Fort Canby State Park at the time, it had camping very near the beach as well a larger campgound more inland. A very nice area.

Located two miles southwest of Ilwaco, Wash.
From Seattle:
Take I-5 south to Olympia, SR 8 west to Montesano. From there, take U.S. Hwy. 101 south to Long Beach Peninsula.

From Portland:
Take I-5 north to Longview, then SR 4 west to U.S. Hwy. 101. Then drive south to Long Beach Peninsula. Follow signs to Ilwaco and the park.

Grayland State park also has the newer sites that are just by the dunes .. and right by the beach ..... I have camped there acouple of times....

sites 80-120..... check them out!!

dont bother with Twin Harbors.... unless ya wanna be packed in like sardeens. Weport as acouple of big RV places too.. but again i dont find it as nice as Grayland State park.... Even the circle spots are nice!!

There is a campground at Fort Casey State Park that is right on the beach, next to the ferry landing.

Fort Flagler State Park just east of Port Townsend is one. You will want reservations.
Kalaloch in ONP south of Forks or north of Ocean Shores is another.
Rocky inland beach, Seal Rock on Hood Canal is right next to the beach.
Crescent Bay by Joyce has a private campground that is next to the sandy beach. Next to it is Salt Creek Campground which sits between the bay and the Strait. On one side is a trail to basalt reefs, the other side trails to sandy Crescent Bay.
