I spent a week at South Beach SP last week while I was attending a watercolor workshop in Newport. Imagine my surprise when I came 'home' on the second day and found a 2006 Escape
parked right next door!!! I chatted briefly with the owners, a Canadian couple living in the San Juan's, while they were setting up. Unfortunately, our schedules and paths didn't cross again before they left a couple days later.
I did get one picture though - the first time I've ever seen another Escape
in a CG!!
The last day that I was there, a 13' Scamp
rolled in (grey Honda pilot towing) - but it was quite rainy and I didn't meet the folks.
The campground was pretty nice - only a 1/4 mile to the beach which was virtually deserted everyday - my greyhounds got to run off-leash every day - a really rare treat for them. The long runs made them a lot more content with hanging out in the trailer all day while I was in town at the workshop.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was wifi at the campground - 'Road Connect' - which was very easy to sign up with - $8 for 1 week of internet access. Having my laptop also gave me the opportunity to check out it's DVD movie playing ability (hadn't used that feature in the 5 years I've had the laptop) - so I wasn't bored during the evenings that it poured and gusted outside.
