The Lily Pad's maiden voyage

Just a short trip report. I bought this camper back in May, but first some stuff had to get fixed, and the guy fixing it took a while (did a great job at a very fair price, so no complaints), didn't get it back until late July. Planned to go in August but we all got sick. So here it is September!

It's named the "Lily Pad" because of our daughter, Lillian, and because of this thread. We went to the Sand Dunes National Park. We wanted to go to the egg rally in the Denver area the same weekend, but a bunch of friends (and a fellow Fiberglass RVer, Bondo and his Perris Hilton) were gathering at the Sand Dunes, so off we went. It went off pretty well. A few issues with the furnace, I think the altitude and cold caused some problems, it seemed like air kept getting in to the line requiring me to bleed it, but still, success!

What a great trip for our inaugural voyages!
Did you ever figure out the battery problem??
I just finished re-gasketing our leaky front/back windows, TR in my other thread.
I haven't swept out all the sand yet...

Oh, yeah, the battery problem was just I needed a new battery. A hundred some dollars later, and I'm good to go.

Going to try to go Crested Butte this weekend to do some leaf peeping, I think I'm going to bring 2 propane tanks, it might be cooooold.

And it actually was fairly easy, even with the baby. We even did have some rain that drove us inside, and we managed. I kinda wished I had an electric water pump instead of the hand pump, would make washing hands after changing a diaper easier, but overall, it worked well.

Lily looks like a very Happy Camper.......you guys are starting her out right. Congrats!

Years ago, we had a hand pump in a very old Truck Camper. It was easy to change out the hand pump with an electric one. I believe I ordered it from JC Whitney at the time.

A hand pump does save on water, however.
