We picked up our Trillium last weekend, in the rain, and after much help getting it wired and hitched up, headed up to Boone, NC. Honey Bear campground, very nice lady who got up to let us in late after I drove very, very slowly on windy mountain roads in heavy fog and torrential rain.

Campsite had a stream running alongside and little trails to explore. Nearby attractions included kiddie railroad and Grandfather Mountain-both covered in rain and fog. So, our plans changed to explore Linville Caverns (really neat cave) and 'gem mining' with the kids.

We even found a trillium growing near our site.

Congratulations on your new Trillium. It is a good omen to find a trillium plant on your first venture. I hope that you have many happy excursions together!

Thanks to you both! We had a another great evening out at a local lake. May be soon I'll be brave enough to try out the range and fridge.

Always,

Congratulations! Hope you have a wonderful trip.
How long do you get to stay in the High Country? The Wooly Worm Festival in Banner Elk is the 18th and 19th.

We have the growing trilliums all around our ridge! We just got our Scamp 1 1/2 wks ago, so what will we expect on our first excursion( 2 weeks away and 5 miles away)???? Scampled eggs?
Lizandjola Best of camping to you and never let the rain stop you from having a good time. Where do you call home when you are not camping?
