Christi, the entrance road is fairly steep but we had absolutely no problems with our 16'
Scamp. IIRC, there were a couple of trailers and fifth wheels in the 28-35 foot range plus at least one motor home in the campground. Don't miss this place!

Amen! Paulo Duro was our first encounter with "steep". Going down in 2nd gear was OK. But, I had two sleepless nights picturing a 45 degree slope and wondering how we would get back up --

Re-read the Owner's Manual which said "put it in drive and let the car decide which gear to use". No Problems Whatsoever; the car walked up in second gear - we haven't looked back and now regularly tackle high, steep roads.

Des

P.S. Paulo Duro was well worth it; a great experience

Thank you all sooooo much. Look out, Gina, another SNOWBIRD on the way!!-and a NEWBIE!! .

Reservations completed :
Clinton/Elk City KOA - not as exciting as Roman Nose, but, no reservations at Roman Nose
Canyon, Texas - Palo Duro State Park . You talked me in to it!!
Albuquerque/Las Cruces, Tucson, Yuma - the chickens way around
Sedona - Rancho Sedona - probably a splurge
Santa Fe - Santa Fe Skys

It's months away, but now I can outfit the rig

Thanks, all of you, for the help and advice Christi
