Is there anyone who knows of campsites around Tulsa.

The Catoosa KOA is gone and that would have been the closest to our relatives.

Maybe we will have to use the one in Claremore.

Thanks, Nancy

We have cousins there as well, but never have taken the camper there to see them yet.
Looks like if you Google Campgrounds Tulsa OK there is no shortage. Maybe someone will know one of these from personal experience.

I know my cousins camp a lot out at a lake somewhere close by, but probably wouldn't be convenient for running back and forth.

Are you sure your favorite KOA is gone? I've stayed at many former KOA's who have chosen to go independent. Check with someone in the area - there's at least a 50 percent chance the campground is still there.

Yes Dan it is gone. Never stayed there so I can't say it was a favorite.

Called the Casino across the road from it and they said it is now truck parking. Casino will let us stay in parking lot, but we aren't casino people.

The (new?) KOA in Claremore might not be as far north as I thought. Having trouble finding things on google map.

I don't want to just pick someplace without recommendation. We think our first choice place south of the airport is not in such a good area.

Right now the neighbors driveway is looking good. They are also relatives and do not drive so don't need the driveway.

Found a COE campground east of Broken Arrow, but my that would be a drive. There are places west, but Tulsa is not fun to drive across to visit with family.

Thanks people for trying to help.

Nancy

Robert and I had stayed in the old Catoosa, Oklahoma KOA on previous cross-country trips back when we had the Compact Jr. While convenient to I-44 exit 240A, the entrance was behind an industrial truck lot; it sounds like the lot took it over. When we passed by it on our long, long trailer trip in July, I was surprised to see the new Casino there. Yes, the old KOA is completely gone.

If you aren't Casino People, then you may not like the new Tulsa/Will Rogers Downs KOA off I-44 exit 255. They have an independent website through Cherokee Casinos.
