Lake Pleasent
Just north of Phoenix, AZ.
We had a wonderful time and Great sunsets at Lake Pleasent.
http://members.cox.net/gmorse7/dp/lakepleasant.htm
One of the most scenic water recreation areas in the “Valley of the Sun,” this northwest Valley park is a recreationist’s dream. The park offers many activities, such as camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, picnicking, and wildlife viewing. At the Lake Pleasant Visitor Center, guests learn about the history of the area and desert wildlife. Step out onto the balcony surrounding the Visitor Center to get a beautiful view of Lake Pleasant and an up-close look at Waddell Dam. The breathtaking views offer visitors a great place to relax, whether it is from a boat or shoreline picnic site.

Lyman Lake State Park, AZ
http://www.azstateparks.com/Parks/parkhtml/lyman.html
Sunset on Lyman Lake
A few FiberglassRV Moderators get together to build the team.
Lyman Lake really comes into its own during the spring, summer, and fall. Summer days, with high temperatures in the 80s to low 90s are perfect for fishing, swimming, leisure boating, water-skiing, rock-hounding, hiking, or just plain relaxing. Special programs are scheduled throughout the spring and summer months.
Regional points of interest include: Petrified Forest National Park, just 55 miles to the north; the White Mountains, which begin just 25 miles to the south; and the Sunrise ski area, only 42 miles to the south. A small herd of buffalo, owned by the St. Johns Chamber of Commerce, is located at the entrance to Lyman Lake State Park.

Deschutes River where it dumps into the Columbia River.

Fish Creek Camp Ground on the Clackamas River. Fish Creek dumps into the Clackamas about 100 yards up stream, hence the name "Fish Creek CG".

Dechutes River about 5 miles down river from Maupin, OR. Almost a dispersed camp site. One site is there is in this campground.

Not exactly a camp site, but "baby" gets a boat ride. Lots of water underneath.

One of our favorites is Gilita Creek Campground on Gilita Creek in the Gila National Forest.
You can't quite see our Casita behind the willows across the creek.
Here's a shot of the Casita from the other side of the creek.
This is the Winnebago trap entering the campground.

Getting there is half the fun.
NM-159 from US-180 climbing into the mountains.
There is a decent view, however.
The road gets narrower and steeper.
Camp coffee.
A nearby attraction, Snow Lake.

Take hiway 4 thru Calaveras Big Trees SP. Turn right at Dorrington. Follow Boards Crossing Road to the Stanislaus River. It is a Forest Service CG called Sourgrass. First come, $16 per night, showers. Native American site and influence. Opens about mid May and closes near end of Sept. The river is a short walk from the campsites. Great sleeping! You can hear the river.

Hey Mike, If you end up anywhere near Milwaukee, take the Great Lakes Express across Lake Michigan to Muskegon,MI. Or drive around the lake. North Muskegon State park camp grounds have some of the greatest beaches in the world. Sugar sand as far as you can see. Miles of trails through the dunes. They have two camp grounds, one on the channel of muskegon lake and one right on lake Michigan. The sunsets are perfect to watch from the dunes just above the beach. Just make sure it's summer time or you will have cheap camp sites and views of icebergs. Email me if you need a guide llttfod@yahoo.com
