Well God willing and the creek don't rise, we are headed to Yosemite. Mt. Shasta the first night, Angels Camp the second and then 4 nights at the park. Then through the park to Lake Tahoe (wow the campsites are expensive), next night Lassen Volcanic National Park then on to Rocky Point Resort at Upper Klamath Lake in Oregon (the kids are meeting us there for the rest of the week) - hope to do some paddling maybe lay on the dock and watch the Perseid meteor shower reflected on the lake. Looks like they are getting the fire contained so keep your fingers crossed - we decided to take Rt 120 instead of 140 to avoid the fire and keep some alternatives in the back of our mind (Seqouia Natl Park? - any suggestions from folks who know the area in case we have to evacuate?) - will try and send a report!

Happy Trails,

Dave & Kathie

Have a great trip. It will be smoky- and Sequoia/Kings Canyon may be smoky but not as bad. At least the smoke may keep the crowds away.

We are heading to Yosemite on Saturday, for a week's vacation.

Taking 120 from the Bay Area.

Hope you guys have a great time. Between a wedding in September and various illnesses in the older generation, we're not doing much camping. But we plan on making up for it next year and we'll see you at the spring NOG, all things being equal.
Have a great holiday.
cheers
Ian
