My wife and I are headed to the Yuma area in February, pulling Scamp 5er.. We'd like to stop at a site with full hook-ups for a week or so.. No boondocking this time, we did that last year at Senator Reservoir and had a good time.. Thanks, Ken (out of the snow for a while) Moore

I have not stayed in Yuma myself, but had pretty good luck in my last rip by searching google for "RV Park.. Whatever City" Most have websites and you get a reasonable idea of the quality of the park.. MOST of the time.

As you caqn see from This Image (Click the Satelite option on the map) wherever you stay, the scenery is not going to be all that spectacular.

There just plain isn't anything out there but dirt.

Good you are going in Feb instead of the summer, but check your ressies carefully. Yuma is a HUGE spot for the snowbirds!

It's not that bad. I stayed out on some BLM land north of Yuma in February. It was very nice. Not the best place I've stayed, yet not the worst. But it is boon docking... Not much out there but nature. I think I'll go back out there. Yup, middle to end of February...After the Rt 66 trip.

Some of the BLM stuff is great and indeed uncrowded. They want full hook ups tho.

Hey Andy look! I found a UFO in one of your pics!

(Yuma is the place to see 'em!)

Have you looked at this site: Yuma RV Parks Think I"ll check out Yuma on my way to San Diego late Feb. early March. Most sunshine of any city in America, so they say. Sounds good. Good Luck! Dwai

Wow! Gonna be a bunch of us eggers in Yuma! We're there on March 6 en route to San Diego on our two month Toronto to Vegas safari. Mebbe we'll see some of you. We're in the sage green Trillium aka The Road Toad. Cheers...Alistair

Have you chosen an RV park yet? I suppose they tend to be full this time of year. Dwain

Dwain, I called the Caravan Oasis RV park...mostly 'cause I liked their web page...and they told me they wouldn't need a reservation from me- they had lots of sites. Alistair

Thanks everyone for the Yuma information.. Sounds like it shouldn't be a problem finding a place to hook up the Scamp.. I'll be on the lookout for other egg heads out there in the desert.. Ken
