13' Scamp, First time Full-timer! Please Advise

My name is Raemond. I'm 30 years old, My GF and I are moving to Seattle from Oklahoma City. We saved up 12K. We are good people trying to start their lives over doing exactly what we want rather than exactly what is expected of us by society. She's a professional HairStylist with a B.A. she doesn't use. I'm hoping to go to grad-school once we arrive in WA. We have a Jeep and a Scamp we intend to live in for at least the next few years.

We are leaving March 1st and intend to take our time getting to Washington, travel through Arizona, NM, California, Oregon, Utah, perhaps Colorado.... Anyway, I've modified the Scamp with solar power so camp sites become less of a necessity. We'd like to use very little of the money we've managed to save, as it took us quite some time to save it. I've researched BLM, Forest Service, WWOOF, HELPX, Workcamping, etc... searching for reasonable opportunities for a couple to stay short time without paying a fee, contribute through work-trade, while earning either food or cash as well...
All of those means seem very very wonderful and I plan to utilize them, but my question for this community is... aren't there gangs of TT folks out there, just holding it down somewhere in the woods????
Can I be initiated? Anyway, I will take any advice you'll give me.

I suggest you read the next thread below this one. someone has posted costs of full timing in a Scamp. Interesting and may help you find some answers.

TYB, you're on a good track. Your resources mentioned above are a great start.

I'm just 16 months into full-timing in my Scamp and just started volunteering at a National Park last month. While it doesn't generate any income it provides me with a number of benefits I value and many of the most important ones to me are difficult to impossible to monetize. That said perk of volunteering save expenses which helps balance the bottom line.

There are so many ways to skin the cat. Everyone has a different story. My advice is to find as many full-timers as you can. Listen to whatever they're willing to share. You will find your own path.

Went to your blog and saw the Charcoal Kilns. We've been there and thought they were really interesting, partially because we have built a few geodesic domes, living in a 50 foot one for a few years.

The acoustics of an empty dome are interesting and initially surprising. Fortunately once you add a few walls and furniture the reflective nature disappears.

Our domes were plywood covered in fiberglass, maybe a precursor to owning our Scamp.
