If you did try this can you tell me specifically the conditions at which you did it? For example; maybe you were in PHX in August, it was 113 out and you were able to cool it down to only 95 degrees.....something like that?
I'd appreciate any real-world knowledge you can give me on this issue!
Also, since I'm new here...I may be in the wrong spot asking this question? If so please direct me to the right area. Thanks so much!
Hi Cindy, I lived in Phoenix a couple years in the mid 70's and am now in the SoCal desert. I can only give you one real world example. Last summer the power went down for 25 hours, daytime temps 100-105* w/10% humidity. I have a stock '06 SD 17 with a 9000btu roof A/C that runs great on a Honda 2000 at only half throttle when cooling. I had it set on high and the interior temp went to 68*. About froze that night when the outside temp dropped to around 85*. I never checked room temp....didn't want to get out from the covers
. BTW, the Honda ran for 8 1/4 hours on a full tank of gas running the air and the trailer was parked in full sun also. Hope that helps you. I think the summer temps are around 10-15* higher here than in Phoenix.
