Here's what I sent.....still dangling the bait...........

Angela....

Can I get your phone number before I send all this information I'd like to talk to you about the camper....Can I get some pictures of the bottom and frame of the camper just to know its in good shape after all it was built in 1972...Some of these had issues with the frame and there was a recall back then and alot were repaired and some were not and unless you know just where to look there's no way to know if it was repaired back then.I've owned a few of these in the past and 2 had been repaired and 1 was not....

I had some fun a few weeks ago - I had a car for sale and "they" wanted to send me the $$$$ via paypal and have "their driver" come pick it up. My payment was guaranteed by Paypal of course.

So I pointed out that since they obviously had the $$$$ available I'd happily proceed. Since they HAVE the $$$$ (to pay Paypal) - just give the $$$$ to your "driver" and when he, in turn, hands me the cash, I'll hand the car over. Cash only. No checks, no money orders, no drafts.

Funny - never heard from them again!

I wonder if maybe they weren't quite so eager to proceed after all?

I mean - the lady who wanted to buy it sight unseen could not be there in person because she was:

A) A blackjack dealer on a cruise ship
In hiding from her abusive husband
C) Out of the country tending to her sick mother
D) Attending a course in Easter Europe
E) Undergoing Chemotherapy for her breast cancer
F) Making arrangements for her daughter's funeral or wedding or.....

A friend of mine was looking at a pop-top VW camper.
The same exact wording in his ad.
One would think there would be away to track these people.

I'm sure most of them are based outside of the US. Makes tracking them down and dealing with them much harder. Just pick a country which has descended into a state of lawless anarchy and you can operate with impunity.

I honestly don't advise doing this sort of thing and it strikes me as the work of people with WAY too much time on their hands - but... Some people do enjoy baiting the scammers and documenting the exchanges:
