I believe that holds extension hoses for the drains.

So much rust! Is that common?

The holder above the propane is indeed the black tank hose holder.

re the rust.... its not uncommon to see on older trailers - it appears to be mostly surface rust but IMHO it does appear to be more than what I would expect to see on a trailer of that age & raises the question as to why. Perhaps it has been subject to some winter driving? Mine is 12 years older than this one and it doesnt have that level of rust.... It would make me want to take a look at the rust level on the axle.....

It's only a few hours away, tempted to go look. It would be a nice unit to "snowbird" in next winter.

Talking MA Scamp

Going to see this vehicle today. Have been looking at Scamps online for months but this will be my first time seeing one "live." Very excited!

We considered putting in a bid, but it's over the weight limit for our Honda CRV which is the most practical of our four hitch equipped vehicles. Would have liked to look at it, but this weekend is too busy for us to make a 5 hour round trip. We are watching the auction just to see what it finally goes for, expecting a last minute bidding frenzy!

I'm glad I looked at it and very glad I read the post about possible rust on the axle. When I looked underneath, it was quite rusty. Inside, the toilet was pretty ugly and, contrary to what the ad said, there was definitely a musty smell. We decided not to bid on it.

Sometimes vehicles that just set , especially on dirt or grass will rust more underneath than one that is driven or used frequently. Ginger, your report makes us feel better that we didn't waste the time to go look. Thanks for letting us know what you found. At that price it had to be inspected in person, we can't go by pictures alone.

Ended up closing at $8,200. I hope the final bidder is happy... sounds like this unit has "issues".

Bob your right but you go to the bottom on the listing on EBay the trailers history is there - one owner - traded for an Airstream - retiring - lots of RV'ing - been hauling trailers for over 40 years. Doesnt sound like this was a case of the trailer not being used frequently. As I indicated earlier the level of rust on that age of trailer sure made me question where its been ..... but by the price it went for it appears it wasnt a big concern to others.
