Owner's posting is below. He's a little off base on some of his claims:
This Camper is almost identical to "Scamp 13 ft. It is fiberglass and weighs about 1250 lbs. It can be towed with a mini van or even a compact vehicle. It has a shower with porta potti and sink, air, a furnace, cook stove and microwave. There is a solar battery charger on the roof which keeps the battery up. Cable hook up for tv is installed.
- Bob has established that this is a 16 ft UHaul
VT camper (13ft box + 3ft to hitch).
- The CT 13 weighs in at 1250. The VT is likely weighing
in at 2000-plus lbs.
- No way should a compact vehicle be towing this. It normally requires brakes
- The battery
charger will not keep the battery 'charged', it is just a low level trickle to keep the battery terminals from chalking up.
and for those not familiar with UHauls, this double-hulled, and is smooth walled inside and out, with air space between the hulls.
But if this camper is in good condition, then this is a very reasonable price for a VT. There's not too many of them around (only 200 or so VTs were originally produced). Too bad he didn't post any interior shots.
