Time for me to do this too.
Please bear with me, I can be a bit slow.
If I understand correctly, I am to:
1) Pull a 10 gage wire with a 30 amp inline fuse from the alternator to the hitch at the rear of the car.
2) Pull a 10 gage wire with a 30 amp inline fuse from the trailer's battery's positive terminal to the front of the trailer.
3) Attach each to one corresponding 6 or 7 pin connector along with the 4 wires that already exist matching the standard wiring plan.
What am I missing?
An RV place said that I need a heavier gauge ground wire than is already in the 4 pin wiring.
Where would it get attached?
Attach to the alternator or battery
in the car?
Is there any downside to charging while driving?
Can you over charge the trailer battery
RV place said I did not need a battery
isolator in the trailer because there is no power flow when the car is turned off.
True for the original wiring but it is only 14 gauge so I need to run a heavier wire. Is this still true?
What else am I missing?
