Adding brake controller on 2015 Nissan Frontier

Anyone out there using a 2015 Nissan Frontier with brake controller?
My Frontier has the factory installed hitch & tow package with 7-wire connector for the trailer. It is supposed to be wired for a brake controller and I have the short 2 plug wiring adapter and Tekonsha P3 controller. However, looking under the dash there are no loose connectors for the Tekonsha adapter to connect to. I do notice, however that there are two switches with connectors attached to the brake pedal and perhaps I should just plug into one of those.
Thanks.

If it were me, I would either contact the Nissan dealer or Tekonsha directly. Both should be able to give you everything you need to know.

My Frontier is a 2014, but I understand that there were no significant changes from on year to the next. The dealer installed my Prodogy controller with the same pigtail you have. The pigtail goes between the controller to a plug at the right side of the steering column, near the bottom edge of the instrument panel. It was a simple plug and play!

Or etrailer.

In fact I think etrailer gets it right more often than the car dealers do.

on my 2011 xterra the brake controller wiring harness goes in the vicinity of the center console - had to remove a panel as I recall.

it is plug and play. you will probably have to get the new harness at a nissan dealer.

Doug,

I just installed a Prodigy P3 on our '09 Kia Borrego. I could not find the pigtail. After about three times looking, I removed the left-hand kick panel in the general location of where it was supposed to be. Sure enough, it was tucked in behind panel. Once I got it out, it was "plug n play".

Wish ya the best,

Dean

On my Frontier the connection was just above the gas pedal under the dash. Its a small white square plastic plug in connection. Mine had lots of extra cable that was all wrapped up and zipped tied to another item to sitting fairly high up under the dash.

Once you find it, the install is a very simple plug and play.

Should be there. As I recall mine was wrapped in green tape. You'll find it. Raz

Thanks for the info. I found it just where you other Nissan folks said, right of the steering wheel tucked up fairly high. I could not see it from underneath the dash but was easy to find after removing the lower panel below the steering wheel. The Tekonsha instructions, supposed to be for Nissan, showed the connector on the left side "near the emergency brake pedal", and was dated 2004.

Hi Doug,

Glad you found it. I think finding the vechicle's brake controller pigtail is a rite of passage for many of us!
