OK I will be doing an axle change on my 2000 Scamp deluxe, tire wear on both sides on the inside.
Have been talking to David Switalski at Dexter axle good person to deal with.
So looking at the Scamp the old axle is a weld on with 5 welds, 2 on both sides front and rear on the brackets and an "L" bracket in the middle welded to the frame. Is this the way other Scamps are set up with the middle "L" braket weld on , I thought that you never welded on the axle tube. We will go with the standard set up axle, but am thinking about bolt on instead of weld. So can you look under your trailer a let me know.

Get it bolted, the previous owner of my Boler had the axle replaced a couple of years ago, the place he went to did weld the new Dexter axle, from what I discovered, welding the new axle, they did melt the rubbers in it.

Ok the SCAMP is in the shop having a new axle installed. Having brackets installed and then the axle bolted on.
The cost $739. Then we buy new tires then off to the mountains to see how well it does.
