Bal Leveler: Does It Also Require the Purchase of Bal Tire Chock?

My question... The price on the Bal Leveler just came down from 95 to 82 dollars and change on Amazon and I was going to purchase it, but the ad says something about using with the Bal Single Tire Chock. I looked that up, some piece of metal or long bolt with clamps or something on it that costs an additional 46 bucks.
I have the standard yellow plastic wheel chocks that you buy at WalMart. Will these not work on the tire side with the Bal Leveler? Thanks and I hope to hear from somebody who's using the Bal Leveler and knows what I should do or buy.

I didn't know that additional chocks were needed on the raised side .
I know that there was a discussion a while back about the attributes and short comings of the levelers. Many people did not like the size of it when they had to store it, and the weight of it.... stacking plastic blocks under the tire are lighter and take up much less space. Someone who actually uses currently or have in the past, will chime in soon. I simply had scissor jacks mounted to the frame and use my battery operated drill to raise and lower our trailer quickly and easily.

I use a pair of BAL levellers to level my 19' Escape and a pair of yellow plastic chocks to prevent the wheels on the other side from moving. Used the same leveller on our previous trailer, a 17' Escape with the same excellent result. I have used the yellow blocks but found them to be a bit of a pita. There are people who have purchased a pizza delivery bag to store the leveller in when not in use however mine go into the back of the truck.

We use a BAL leveler on a 17' Casita and yellow chocks on the other side. Never any problems, seems very secure and effective. That said, it is a bit cumbersome. Paul, love the idea of the pizza delivery bag---I had been trying to think of some way to carry/store it.

The BAL leveler provides plenty of chocking power on side it's used. That wheel isn't going anyplace with BAL leveler in place.
Use a standard yellow or something the other side if needed.

Yes i use a BAL leveler and wouldn't be without it.
For storage and hauling around I got some outdoor fabric and a local fabric store and made a bag for it and ratchet wrench that comes with it. I believe there was two metal chocks that came with it also, hard to remember 9 years ago. Since I have two metal chocks and don't think I purchased them they must have come with BAL.

I never needed anything on the other side but I only used the BAL on dirt. On pavement the other wheel might possibly try to roll (don't see how it could do much, though, with the BAL in place.)

No, you do not need to use any chock on the side you use the B@l unit, just on the other side.

I use my BAL a lot since I boondock and the ground is rarely ever flat, Im always on a bit of a slope. I have zero fear of that side of the trailer moving There is a metal flange on either side of the tire(see PIC). Now on the otherside I use a black rubber chock.

As mentioned,the BAL leveller doubles as an excellent chock. I often use it even if the trailer is level. I just snug the leveller some (not enough to lift anything). I also put those yellow chocks on the other side as a belts and suspenders thing. The trailer can pivot around the BAL leveller so it's simple insurance.

I drilled a simple hole in the webbing of the chocks to feed a single rope though each of them with a simple knot to keep the rope from slipping back through the holes. I can just pull on the rope connecting the two chocks to free them up before storage in the tow.
