Ok, mission accomplished! Not without a lot of angst on my husband's part though, and we had to go buy a crimping tool and some butt connectors because we were connecting bare wire to wire. Then there was the big decision of where to drill holes in the dash to locate the controller. So the controller is in and now we await the arrival of the camper so that we can get it all synchronized. whew!

Considering your new Eggcamper will be all electric the crimping too and butt connectors may come in handy in the future. They come in handy on all the other trailers that only have some electric.

Oh Carol,
I hate to put a damper on things but they may have to:
- Pay for it
- Learn all the stuff about safely using the trailer
- Do a circle check before hitting the road

NO!
You just want to get to the party safely, then party in a safe environment so you can do it all over again. Isn't that what it's all about?

Margaritas!! I'm there! Oh wait, I have to leave the 100+ degree weather in Minnesota to travel to the frigid zone of south Louisiana (uh, probably not) to pick up desired camper, hook up the brake controller and figure out how to pull and operate a camper on the trek back home to balmy Minnesota. I can't wait!

Use Uship to avoid the frigid zone S of Louisianna and come to Ontario next weekend. Grab your limit of duty free on the way.

That's the second time you mentioned "circle check". It appears I need to know what means or I may regret it ....

A walk around the trailer avoids remodeling such useful items as tongue jacks, retractable steps, stabilizers. If you're handy as a blacksmith you can cold set all these things once or twice but they don't appreciate it.

I think the phrase "circle check" comes from an old truckers phrase. You circle around your vehicle and trailer to make sure everything is OK.

Frederick L. Simpson put together a good checklist as an example, you can use that as a basis for your situation.

And this is a good thread:
