My trailer has electric brakes but no breakaway switch...is it possible to add one?

I know that there was an accident out here some years ago where a trailer crossed centre and killed some folks and so people here quite often mention breakaway switches.

Yes, you can buy and install them yourself. I just got one for my Scamp at etrailer.com and installed it myself. If you don't have a battery on your camper, you'll either need to get one, or buy one of the small batteries available as an option for trailer brakes.
